In one research, healthy volunteers were given to eat one serving of nuts, Brazil nuts to be more specific, to see how they will react to their levels of cholesterol.

In the research, there were 10  people, 5 were men and the other 5 were women. They ate one meal with 0, 1, 4, or 8 Brazil nuts.

They came to the discovery that with just one serving their levels of cholesterol were instantly improved.

Results of the Research

The bad cholesterol i.e. LDL was lower only after 9 hours since they ate the Brazil nuts. And by the end of the day nearly 20 points.

This is surprisingly fast because even the medications do not have that rapid effect. The statins need 4 days to notice the significant effect.

However, that is not all. The researcher measured the cholesterol of the volunteers after 5 days and after 30 days.

Remember that the volunteers didn’t consume Brazil nuts during that time. They only had that one serving of Brazil nuts, when the research started.

Believe it or not, their cholesterol was still down even after one month. Eating 4 nuts works faster than eating a serving of 8 nuts, when it comes to lowering the bad cholesterol and boosting the good cholesterol.

According to these results eating 4 Brazil nuts is enough to improve your levels of good and bad cholesterol for one month. This might even continue longer than 30 days, but that is not proven because the researcher didn’t measure after one month.

When there is a study like this that is almost too good to be true, people are always suspicious. One of the reasons may be the fact that the study was made for 10 people only.

However, if you want to try this out remember that this is easy, harmless, cheap, and healthy as well.

It is safe to eat Brazil nuts once one month. Yes, you cannot fully rely on the nuts, but as something additional is not harmful if you want to try to consume them for one month.

According to the results, one single serving was enough without producing toxicity in the kidney and liver.

How Does It Work

Brazil nuts have a high content of selenium. The content of selenium is so high that it can be too much according to the daily recommendation of selenium.

But this is not something that should scare you because you will only eat 4 Brazil nuts in a month.

Even if your cholesterol does not improve, there are other benefits to consuming nuts. The nuts can NCBI, can NCBI, and can NCBI.
