A new innovation in agriculture may have found a solution for growing food in some of the most inhospitable places. Such innovation should be accepted without hesitation because it will save limited resources and will enable people to prosper on Earth. The growth of the world’s population resulted in increased demand for food.

Before, food could be only get from animals and plants, but nowadays experts are spreading GMO food (Genetically Modified Food). This food is based on the idea that the world is running out of resources and a new way of providing food should be found. This looks like a very good solution, but in fact, some deeper analyses have shown that GMOs harm more than it does well.

So, GMO food could not be accepted. It will bring about many long-term problems for consumers. New ways of providing food should be found.

However, there is a new solution on the horizon that provides an efficient way without relying on limited resources.

The company Sundrop Farm has developed a special high-technology greenhouse that grows crops with limited reliance on natural resources. This is a completely new technique in contrast to traditional greenhouse production. The company has offices in Adelaide, Southern Australia, and London, United Kingdom.

For any food production water, land and energy are of crucial importance. On earth, these sources are finite. However, Sundrop Farms reinvent these resources. They opened the first pilot facility in 2010 in Australia. The facility was located in a desert. Such a place is known for its inhospitable properties for any traditional farming method, but not for Sundrop Farms. They started growing crops in this desert with the latest innovative techniques. They combined sunlight and seawater to grow food in a desert.

With these techniques, the company goes beyond drought, land, flood, and pestilence.

Sundrop uses coconut husks, desalinated water, and 23,000 mirrors which reflect the solar power on the 20-hectare farm in Australia.

Sundrop uses the seawater from the Spencer Gulf, conducting it to an enormous greenhouse lined with cardboard. In this way, it does not rely on groundwater for the process of production.

It also grows crops hydroponically, which eliminates the need for water and soil. By using mirrors Sundrop redirects the sun and a sweater to produce 17,000 tons of food every year.

The process of production does not stop during winter time but it continues throughout the year. During winter, there are 39 megawatts of energy from solar power which enables the company to keep producing.

The farm spent $200 million to build this innovative and effective way of production.

The Mind Unleashed claim that Sundrop Farms does not use any chemical pesticides. It uses only beneficial bugs that kill the pests without harming the crops. They produce only non-GMO products that are distributed to grocery stores around Australia. Even the supermarkets sign 10-year contracts with them, to sell their products.

The investors believed that this is a worthwhile and long-term investment. Philipp Saumweber, the chairman and CEO states that they were aware of the input costs, but everything they do is on a renewable basis so they can provide a consistent supply of high-quality products at a better price than the previous year.
