The toxic tooth infection is also known as an abscessed tooth – an infection between the tooth and the gum or at the very root of the tooth.

It is caused by poor dental hygiene, a high-sugar diet, sticky foods, severe tooth decay, or gingivitis. A bacteria enter the tooth through dental cracks, cavities or chip and spreads down to the root tip.

But, if you do not treat it, it may cause inflammation and pain, or spread to the bone that supports the tooth and cause life-threatening complications.

The tooth that is affected cannot fight infections, so the infections can reach the pulp chamber of the tooth. Therefore, the pain decreases once the pulp in the root tooth is dead.

But, that won’t stop the infection from spreading, and the surrounding tissue will be destroyed.

Furthermore, some of the warning signs of an abscessed tooth are discomfort, pain while eating, bad breath, swollen cheek, sore and red gums, difficulty in swallowing, swollen lymph nodes under the jaw, sharp toothaches, the ability to taste, and fever.

If you have any of the symptoms mentioned above, you need to schedule an appointment with your dentist. In the meantime, you can use some natural remedies that are effective for sure.
