One of the main roles of the federal government is to protect farmers, landowners, and people in general. They concentrate on the protection from dangerous predators that can attack and threaten both people and livestock. However, this does not mean that using cyanide bombs is the right way to do so.
This role is called into question after a dog was killed by a device used for protection by the Department of Agriculture.
Canyon Mansfield, 14, reported that he was walking down with his dog when he saw a pipe sticking out of the ground. Being curious, he touched the pipe, but soon it released a deadly orange substance.
In fact, he has touched an M-44 device, a method of cyanide distribution. This method is used by the Department of Agriculture to protect people and livestock from nature’s dangers.
Mansfield got rid of this poison quickly but unfortunately, his dog couldn’t. The beautiful yellow Labrador died from this poisonous substance. What is more terrifying, no one knew the what it really was.
According to WITI, this family didn’t know that there are M-44 bombs around their property. These devices are a serious threat to people’s lives.
Canyon’s father, Mark Mansfield explained that they didn’t know anything about these devices. He pointed out that even the neighborhood and the sheriff deputies didn’t know what these cyanide bombs were.
Fox News reported that this particular case along with other similar ones have caused lawmakers to consider banning the use of these devices by the Department of Agriculture.
Peter DeFazio, an Oregon Democrat Rep. planned to initiate a bill that will end the use of these devices.
Meanwhile, if you notice some suspicious pipes, make sure you call the authorities at the very moment.
