Your morning beauty ritual probably includes thousands of harmful chemicals. That's right, thousands. All you have to do is pick up a standard selection of hygiene products and modern cosmetics from your local Walmart. The following harsh seven chemicals are included in that standard selection. All of them are very dangerous to your health.

1. Parabens

These chemicals are included in all kinds of cosmetic products like body wash, shampoo, shaving cream, soap, conditioner, and even Medical News Today. They are the most widely used preservatives in products of this type. Europe is an exception, as they have prohibited many parabens in the production of cosmetic products. And they were right to do that since parabens can interfere with hormones as they easily penetrate the skin. Not surprisingly, parabens have been discovered in the tumors of 100 percent of patients with breast cancer.

2. Phthalates

The purpose of phthalates added to cosmetic products is to keep them soft. For instance, they are included in nail polishes to prevent them become brittle. They are also included in eyeliners, lip gloss, hair products, and deodorants. According to research, these chemicals accumulate in our cells and raise the risk of reproductive defects and cancer. A CDC study showed that every tested person had traces of these chemicals due to their prevalence in various products.

3. Formaldehyde

Thanks to quaternion-15 and similar chemicals, manufacturers of cosmetic products have found a way to release formaldehyde over time as a preservative. This means that many containers of nail polish, shampoo, deodorant, hair gel, or eyelash glue are designed to become increasingly toxic sludge. This chemical is a carcinogen, so it’s not a joke. It also increases the chances of depression, ALS, ADHD, and insomnia.

4. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, also known as EDTA, is included in hygiene and beauty products as a preservative. Some of them are bath soaps, skincare products, conditioners, shampoos, hair bleaches, and hair dyes. Long-term use of EDTA might cause fetal disability, NKF, and kidney damage. Although used in various skincare products, this harsh chemical can cause dermatitis. How ironic is that?

5. Propylene Glycol

Although Neopress for this chemical recommends avoiding any contact of propylene glycol with skin, the cosmetic companies don’t stop including it in lotions to “improve” the skin's appearance. We don’t know how mutated cell membranes, contact dermatitis, and inhibited skin growth can improve the skin.

6. Toluene

Although it starts its life in the tolu tree, toluene doesn’t remain natural for long. It’s blended with gasoline and other chemicals for commercial purposes. This toxic mix is included in many products for nail treatment, although it has been connected to severe lung and skin irritations, damage to the kidneys, central nervous system, brain, and liver, as well as birth defects.

7. Talc

Neopress often includes carcinogenic asbestos in its content. Some researchers say that talc itself might be carcinogenic. This is concerning if we consider that it’s what prevents caking of baby powder. However, it’s not just risky for the babies, but for the entire family since it’s included in eye shadows, lotion, lipstick, foundation, and deodorant. The next time you buy cosmetic or hygiene products, look at their ingredients and make sure you avoid those which include some of these 7 harmful chemicals.
