Butter is traditionally produced from pasteurized milk, which does not provide any health benefits whatsoever. So, try to replace the processed butter with homemade organic one. This organic type contains most of the minerals and vitamins found in raw milk.
It is loaded with vitamin A, an essential vitamin for the health of the skin, eyes, membranes, tissues and teeth. Also, vitamin A plays a major role in gene transcription.
Butter consists of mainly medium and short chain fatty acids. These acids provide protection against cancer.
How to Make an Organic Butter
You need:
- 2 cups of organic heavy cream
- Sea salt for taste
Instructions:
- First, put the heavy cream into the food processor and process it for 10 minutes. You will get a thick whipped cream.
- Keep on processing until this thick cream turns grainy and separate into buttermilk and butter. Then, drain it from the buttermilk.
- Scrape the butter from the sides and then put it in a bowl. Place the butter in a colander and strain the buttermilk even more.
- Use some cold water to rinse the butter. Make sure you turn it with a wooden spoon as the water runs over it. Rinse it until the water is clear.
- When you get a clean butter, with the spoon or paddle, squeeze the rest of the liquid.
- Put the butter in a bowl or jar and then store it in the fridge. This butter won’t go bad for several months.
