One ride-sharing company, joined in the opposition to Donald Trump’s immigration actions and Muslim ban. Along, #DeleteUber movement which gained immense popularity on the social media, Lyft opposes Trump’s immigration ban directly. Lyft’s cofounders, John Zimmer and Logan Green sent an email titled “Defending Our Values” to customers as a protest to Trump’s executive order. The email reads that this ban of a specific identity or race, creed or faith, ethnicity or sexuality to enter the U.S are against not only to Lift’s but the nation’s core values. Lyft states that they strongly oppose this policy and won’t allow such issues to endanger the values of their community. In an email, the company also announced $1 million donation for the American Civil Liberties Union,  for the next 4 years. The email also reads that the company will try to defend the constitution and support the community members, their friends and families who are directly affected by this ban. By staying together and being there for each other, people will remain the power of the community. Lyft’s email opposes Uber’s response to Trump’s immigration actions. Uber has committed to work with affected drivers and financially compensate them for 3 months. Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, has mentioned that he will raise the issue of grievances over this immigration policy on Feb. 3 at the meeting in Trump White House. Kalanick has been strongly criticized for his involvement with Trump’s White House. Uber was strongly criticized for the actions on Saturday. Then the protesters crowded into the airports as a reaction to the immigration policy. The NY Taxi Workers Alliance required one-hour work stoppage at JFK International Airport and Uber stopped surge pricing but still serviced the airport. So, this company’s action was critically condemned and this brought about the #DeleteUber. Bonus: How Uber driver surprises passengers with puppies. Via Mashable
