Our health depends on the amount of sleep we provide each day. Although many people are familiar with this fact, most people today sleep less than recommended and increase the chances of becoming overweight and worsening their mood during the day. The effects of sleep deprivation can be felt in many of our organs and our skin is especially affected.

A recent survey conducted at the popular Sleep School in London together with a reputable bed company – Bensons for Beds, has shown that sleeping less than six hours a day can result in radical changes in the physical appearance of any individual and this negative impact can be easily recognized for more than a week. A total of 11.000 individuals were part of this study. Sarah Chalmers was one of the people that were part of the study and she slept only six hours for 5 consecutive days. What she has experienced was shocking. Sarah was feeling tired and hungry all the time and she also had difficulties to focus. The pores all over her skin have increased for two times and she also noticed many more red areas on the skin.
