China is one of the greatest producers of rice worldwide with a production of over 200 tons of rice every year. Although it has the greatest production, the Korean Times report claims that Chinese rice is very dangerous due to its plastic content. This report points out that Chinese rice companies sell artificial rice made out of plastic and potato starch, steamed with rice aroma in the ending process. Usually, plastic rice is combined with organic rice in order not to make people suspicious. Based on this, a further investigation was conducted in order to find out whether these statements were true. The results were shocking, the Chinese rice contained as much plastic as a little plastic bag. Fortunately, there are certain differences between the types of rice and you can easily find out which one is the fake one. Just follow these simple steps:

Test 1: Mortar and pestle

Crush several rice grains and take a close look. If there is a white powder, the rice is organic but if there are yellow stains it definitely plastic.

Test 2: Fire

Light a few rice kernels, if they burn, the rice that you have bought is definitely fake because the organic one can’t burn.

Test 3: Water

Fill a glass with water and pour a tablespoon of rice in it. The organic rice would fall to the bottom of the glass while the fake one would stay on the top.

Test 4: Mold

Cook some rice in water and then store it in a plastic container. Leave the container in a sunny spot for several days. The organic rice will mold in just two days while the fake one will stay like it was. These tests will help you detect the quality of the rice you have bought in a simple way.
