Charlotte Figi is a 6-year-old girl who developed a very rare disease known as Dravet syndrome. This syndrome is known for causing frequent seizures. In the case of Charlotte, this frequency meant about 300 seizures every week! The frequent seizures affected her health in different ways and she soon developed some symptoms that are typical for autism.
Her parents and family members tried all the standard treatments, but none of these methods provided results. Finally, her neurologist suggested using cannabis oil treatment and the results were really surprising.
Charlotte was lucky enough to live in Colorado, the state that has recently allowed the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes and Charlotte didn’t have any problem using this extract as part of her treatment.
Her condition was gradually improving and after only eight months all the symptoms of this vicious disease were completely eliminated.
Her parents have chosen Kris Carr strains that contain very high cannabidiol levels and very low THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) levels. THC is the part of the marijuana plant responsible for the psychological reactions to marijuana consumption. The cannabis strain that Charlotte used was specially created by the Stanley family that is aiding people who need medical marijuana through their foundation. So, it is no surprise that there are many patients who have moved to Colorado after the changes in this law.
Thanks to the success witnessed in Charlotte’s case, few scientific studies have begun and their main goal is to see the results of using CBD and THC extracts in cases of diabetes, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease.
This is certainly something that supports the cause of people who are pro-marijuana legalization.
