Many people like to keep traditional homemade recipes on hand, and acacia flower syrup is one of them.

In this article, we share one good example of a recipe like this.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (1/2 kg) of sugar
  • 4 cups (1 liter) of water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of citric acid
  • Acacia flowers.

Instructions

Pour the sugar into one liter of water and bring it to a boil.

Once you notice that the mixture starts boiling, put the lid on and wait for 20 minutes.

Stir occasionally.

While you are waiting, add 1 ½ teaspoons of citric acid to the lukewarm syrup.

Once it has cooled down, add 31 acacia branches (with flowers).

Before that, make sure that they are properly washed and dried. Use only flowers from an edible acacia that you can identify with certainty.

Add them completely dry to the syrup.

After exactly 24 hours, strain everything well and enjoy.

This mixture is very sweet, so you can use water to dilute it.

This syrup has a very pleasant taste and scent, so almost everyone will enjoy it.

It is traditionally used for the throat, colds, coughs, migraines, and stomach cramps.
