No one wants underarm odor and it’s something which can cause significant embarrassment. It can be notoriously difficult to control, especially in pressure situations. While many turn to chemical-based products such as deodorant, natural remedies are the choice of many others.

10 Effective Home Remedies to Say Goodbye to Underarm Odor Forever

Here are 10 home treatments which can help you eliminate underarm odor forever.

1. Baking Soda

Since baking soda is used to get rid of odors in laundry and the fridge, it makes perfect sense that it can be used to stop underarm odor. Mix this natural ingredient with some cornstarch, and then apply it on your underarm area. This will help to keep your skin fresh and dry. You should use it when appropriate, preferably before dressing.

2. Alcohol

Choose an odorless alcoholic product, such as vodka, and use it to eliminate body odor. Spray it under your arms before getting dressed and you’ll find that the odor disappears quickly.

3. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is used to treat many skin complaints and it also successfully tackles underarm odor, thanks to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Create a mixture of tea tree oil and natural rosewater and spray it onto your underarms to see quick, noticeable improvements.

4. Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide has many great benefits and one of them is to reduce and eliminate underarm odor. It must be combined with either water or natural rose water and then applied. This natural remedy is effective, and healthy for your skin.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

You’ll need a spray bottle for this remedy involving apple cider vinegar. Take some ACV, and combine it with some lemon juice and water and mix it up in the spray bottle. Then, spray it under your arms before getting dressed. This works because the bacteria responsible for giving underarm odor its pungent smell is neutralized by the spray.

 6. Talc

The brilliant thing about talc is that it can nullify the underarm odor issue before it becomes a problem. Simply wash with a natural soap and then rub some talc on afterwards. You should use this mineral regularly as it will prevent bacteria growth.

 7. Alum

Simply rub your arms with a wet piece of alum and the troubles of underarm odor will rapidly go away.

8. Stop Shaving

Instead of a spray or solution, you could choose to stop shaving in an attempt to eliminate underarm odor. Body hair absorbs moisture – that’s its purpose – and that moisture is what creates the underarm odor smell. Therefore, if you shave off that hair you could cause irritation, which would help to increase the smell. Hence, by not shaving you allow that smelly moisture to be absorbed, preventing the smell.

9. Lemon

Citrus fruits, and lemon in particular, is a good way of reducing underarm odor because it balances the skin’s pH level. Take a slice, hold it in place under your arms for around 15 minutes, and say goodbye to that pesky odor.

10. Natural Soap

Above all, washing your underarms properly is necessary, and using a natural product is just as important. By cleaning thoroughly with natural soap, you’ll do a lot to eliminate underarm odor. You could buy soap which has been made by goat’s milk if you don’t wish to make your own.
